The Melville CN Community Centre is almost ready to welcome hockey back to the ice—and it’s remarkable how quickly it all came together. Just last week, the facility transformed into a full-scale curling venue as it proudly hosted the men’s and women’s provincial curling championships. For an entire week, the familiar rink took on a new identity, complete with sheets of curling ice and all the energy that comes with a championship event.
A huge tip of the cap goes out to the volunteers and organizers who made the week such a success. From early mornings to late nights, their dedication ensured athletes and fans alike enjoyed a first-class experience. Hosting an event of that scale doesn’t happen without countless hours of behind-the-scenes work, and Melville once again showed what a strong, committed community can accomplish together.
What makes it even more impressive is the turnaround. The final stone was thrown on Sunday evening, and by Tuesday the transformation back to a hockey rink was nearly complete. In just a couple of days, the ice was reshaped, proving that this facility—and the people behind it—are as versatile as they are hardworking. Hockey is on the doorstep, and the Melville CN Community Centre is ready to drop the puck once again.
