STE. ROSE DU LAC – RCMP say a man is facing multiple charges after reports of shots fired on the Ebb and Flow First Nation late Monday night.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP say officers were called at about 11 p.m. on Jan. 12 after a report that a shotgun had been fired several times near a residence in the community.
Police allege the suspect discharged a sawed-off shotgun outside the home and then made threats toward a man living down the road.
RCMP officers from Dauphin and Winnipegosis, along with members of the RCMP’s emergency response team and police dog services, helped Ste. Rose officers locate the suspect at a friend’s residence.
The man was taken into custody without incident.
Police say no one was injured during the incident and a firearm was located inside the residence and was seized as part of the investigation.
Cyril Levasseur, 24, is charged with several firearms-related offences, uttering threats and failing to comply with a release order.
RCMP also say a 28-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant related to an unrelated matter.
The investigation is ongoing.
