The Melville Millionaires wrapped up a perfect two-game road trip with a 1–0 overtime victory Wednesday night over the Melfort Mustangs at Northern Lights Palace.
Louis Nadeau ended the scoreless contest just 1:38 into the extra frame, taking a feed from Kale Margolis and using his speed to slip a forehand-backhand move past the right pad of Madden Mullawka for his third goal of the season.
Preston Patenaude was outstanding between the pipes for Melville, turning aside all 36 shots he faced to earn his first career SJHL shutout. Mullawka finished with 21 saves in the loss for Melfort.
With the win, the Millionaires move past Kindersley into seventh place in the SJHL standings.
The Moneymen and Mustangs will meet again Saturday night at the CN Community Centre in Melville. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Kindersley Klippers dropped the second game of their four-games-in-five-nights southern road trip, falling 4–1 Wednesday in Estevan to the Bruins.
SJHL leading scorer Ewan Rennie paced Estevan with a goal and an assist, while Colton Getzlaff, Nathaniel Harvey and Cash Olson also found the back of the net.
The Klippers continue their road swing with a weekend set in Yorkton, beginning Friday night at Westland Arena.
