A Brandon man found guilty of manslaughter in the death of a 2-month-old girl on the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, has appeared in court again.
In January of 2016, Virden RCMP received a report of an infant in distress at a home on the reserve, and she later died in hospital.
After a lengthy investigation, 35-year-old Keifer Mecas was arrested in January of 2023.
In Brandon Court of King’s Bench yesterday (Tue), Mecas was remanded in custody for a sentencing decision on March 4.
