The Yorkton Terriers picked up their 23rd win of the season Wednesday night, improving to 4–1 against Estevan with a 4–1 road victory over the Bruins.
Yorkton opened the scoring 6:19 into the first period when Cash Lanigan snapped home his 12th of the year from the high slot, finishing a setup from Vinay Junek to give the visitors a 1–0 lead after 20 minutes.
The Terriers extended the advantage in the second as Thomas Ries fired from the point and the puck redirected off Junek and past Dylan Adams, marking Junek’s 12th of the season to make it 2–0.
The teams traded goals late in the middle frame. Tyler Palin buried his third of the year to push the lead to 3–0, but Rylan Williams answered less than three minutes later, wiring a short-side shot on a 2-on-1 for his 20th to cut it to 3–1 after two.
William Leonard sealed it in the third with the lone goal of the period, his team-leading 25th for Yorkton, as they moved three points up on Estevan for second in the BUNGE division
Callum Creig turned aside 22 of 23 shots for his 17th win, while Adams made 37 saves on 41 shots in the loss.
