A Yorkton man arrested near Carlyle, when a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and weapons, has admitted his guilt.
In Carlyle Provincial Court Wednesday, 27-year-old Austin Ross was sentenced to seven years in prison, but with time already served in custody, he has to spend just over five years and seven months behind bars.
Last March, Mounties pulled over a speeding vehicle, and roadside sobriety tests confirmed the driver had taken both cannabis and cocaine before driving.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun, 133 grams of crack cocaine, 23 grams of illicit cannabis, multiple pocket knives, and drug trafficking-related items.
