Jye Zawatsky scored three times as the Yorkton Terriers made it back-to-back wins with a 5–3 victory over the visiting Battlefords North Stars on Saturday night.
William Leonard and Vinay Junek added singles for Yorkton, while Callum Creig turned aside 18 of 21 shots for the win. Carter Geysen, Josh Knittig and Cole Hines supplied the North Stars’ offence.
The Terriers sit three points behind Nipawin for fourth in the SJHL and host the Hawks in a Sunday matinee at 3:00 p.m. at Westland Insurance Arena.
In Melville, Charlie Tritt posted a 31-save shutout and the Flin Flon Bombers struck twice on the power play in a 3–0 win over the Millionaires, evening the season series at 1–1. Reid Arberry, Wyatt Stinton and Keaton Lesperance scored for the Bombers, who wrapped up their road trip with three wins in four games.
Preston Patenaude made 29 saves on 32 shots in the loss for Melville, whose four-game point streak came to an end. The Mils are back in action Friday on the road against the Humboldt Broncos, who are three points back of the final playoff spot.
In Warman, Kai Holowachuk scored just over three minutes into overtime to lift Humboldt to a 5–4 comeback win over the Wolverines. Brayden Skogstad led the Broncos with a goal and two assists, while Carter Bergen had a goal and two helpers for Warman.
The Melfort Mustangs–Weyburn Red Wings game was postponed due to weather.
