William Leonard broke a 3–3 tie with 8:48 left in regulation, scoring his team-leading 27th of the season as the Yorkton Terriers stretched their win streak to three with a 4–3 matinee victory over the Nipawin Hawks at Westland Arena.
Gabriel Courchesne, Thomas Ries and Gavin Bartha also found the net for Yorkton, while Cash Lanigan chipped in two assists. Mason Karakochuk paced Nipawin with two goals and an assist, and Sean Shiels added the other.
Callum Creig turned aside 23 of 26 shots to record his league-best 19th win. The result pulls Yorkton even with the Hawks at 52 points, with the Terriers holding fourth place on win percentage.
Yorkton is back home Wednesday against the Estevan Bruins, hosts the Bruins again Friday, then visits the Melville Millionaires on Saturday.
