It was a nice break from shoveling… but that has definitely changed.
December felt like we were clearing snow multiple times a day. Just when you’d finish one round, it seemed like another blast would roll through. Then suddenly, the tap turned off. For a while, we barely had to look at the shovel. It was a welcome break and, honestly, it felt like we had turned a corner.
Well… winter wasn’t done with us just yet.
We’ve got a fresh pile to deal with now, and more snow on the way today. Driveways, sidewalks, decks — it’s time to bundle up and get back at it. And as of first thing this morning, there are several highways where travel is not recommended. That’s a clear reminder that while the snow might look pretty falling, it can create some serious challenges once it hits the ground.
Before you head out, make sure you check highway conditions. A quick look can save you a lot of stress — and keep you safe. You can always find updated weather and highway conditions for Saskatchewan and Manitoba on our website at www.gx94radio.com.
Give yourself extra time, pack an emergency kit if you’re traveling, and don’t take chances if the roads are poor.
Winter may have given us a bit of a breather, but it’s back in full force. Be safe out there.
