A new development in the case of a Crane River First Nation man, arrested in connection with a firearm discharge.
On November 1, Ste. Rose RCMP received a report that a man had fired a weapon at a residence on the reserve, then fired another shot in the general direction of one of the home’s residents, before running away.
The suspect was later arrested with the help of a police drone.
24-year-old Ashton McDonald admitted his guilt in Dauphin Provincial Court Thursday, and was sentenced to five years and 167 days in prison.
