The two-day “Airwaves for Health” Radiothon wrapped up Tuesday, and 2026 was another strong success for the region.
Organizers say the community once again came together to support healthcare improvements across east-central Saskatchewan, with a final total of $257,711.75 dollars raised.
This year’s campaign focused on expanding surgical capacity at Yorkton Regional Hospital, including renovations to the endoscopy suite. The upgrades are expected to allow an additional 500 to 600 procedures each year, helping reduce wait times and keep care closer to home.
Funds will also go toward training future healthcare workers, including the purchase of new ultrasound equipment for students completing practicums locally through Suncrest College.
Donations are still being accepted by visiting the Health Foundation website, helping continue to build a stronger, healthier community.
