Life on the prairies always keeps us on our toes, especially when it comes to the weather. We like to joke that winter takes up half the year, with snow hanging around from November straight through April. But this May long weekend really took things up a notch…rain mixed with snow just as we were all starting to feel confident enough to pack away the winter boots and welcome spring.
If you’ve ever caught yourself blaming the weather on something you did, like taking your snow brush out of the car or swapping out winter tires, you’re in good company. It’s almost a prairie tradition to think we’ve jinxed ourselves by celebrating too soon. But that’s just life here! The weather keeps us guessing. While we can’t predict what’s coming next, we can always cross our fingers for more sunshine and a warm stretch ahead!
@gx94radio Snow?? In the middle of May??? What gives!? I had to clear the snow off my car AND scrape the windows! -Olivia . . . #snow #maysnow #springsnow #saskweather #Saskatchewan
@gx94radio Just why?!? it’s May long weekend! people should be chilling at the lake, not chilly at the lake. 🥶 At least the roads are staying melty. 😮💨 -Olivia . . . #maystorm #snow #saskweather #why #whattheheck
