Ever have a movie you really want to see that just keeps slipping through the cracks? That was me with Novocaine. I missed it in theaters and don’t have Amazon Prime or Paramount Plus, so I’d basically given up…until I opened Netflix and there it was, staring me down like it knew I’d been waiting. Had to hit play right away!
Novocaine was a wild ride. The main character can’t feel pain, so you know things get intense quick. If you’re a fan of Deadpool-style gore, you’ll feel right at home, though I have to warn you, there’s a fingernail scene and a broken arm moment that had me looking away. It definitely pushes the envelope, edging into Fallout-level body horror territory. (Also, obviously this is an R-rated movie, so not for the kiddos.)
But honestly, the movie is worth it. Some of the shots, especially the ambulance sequence, made me appreciate how cool they looked. The whole cast brought their best, making every moment entertaining. If you’re up for an action-comedy that’s just a bit over the top, Novocaine is waiting for you on Netflix.
