Dentists get a bad rap. Some people are nervous, others just aren’t big fans. I used to not be a fan, mostly because every visit meant hearing about new cavities and paying for fillings once my parents put me in charge of the bill. I even needed a crown one year, and wow, I learned just how expensive dental work can be! But things changed when I found a dentist with TVs on the walls and ceilings, and I got to pick my favourite Netflix shows. Suddenly, trips to the dentist weren’t so bad after all.
Determined to avoid the sound of drills and big bills, I decided to step up my dental game. I switched to an electric toothbrush, made brushing twice a day a strict habit, flossed every night, and used special toothpaste my dentist recommended to strengthen my enamel. The real challenge? Giving up pop, but I stuck with it because I wanted better check-ups (and to avoid more crowns).
Now, after my latest teeth cleaning, I’m celebrating three years in a row with zero cavities! Sure, I spend a little more on electric toothbrush heads and special toothpaste, but it’s nothing compared to what I used to pay for fillings. Taking care of my teeth has been totally worth it, and my wallet agrees.
I feel like this accurately represents my tooth game.
