A new development in the case of one of two people, charged in connection with a stolen vehicle in the Wadena area, has appeared in court again.
36-year-old Calvin Paquachan of the Yellow Quill First Nation, was in Wadena Provincial Court July 2, where he admitted to four charges – flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property over $5-thousand – along with guilty pleas to charges from separate matters.
He received a total sentence of 11-hundred days in prison, but with credit for time already spent in custody, he’ll spend another 921 days in jail
He was also given a ten-year firearm prohibition and a one-year driving ban.
Last November, Wadena RCMP received a report that a truck was stolen from south of Wadena.
The truck ran out of fuel, and after police arrested the two suspects, they seized a firearm, and what was suspect to be drugs.
