It’s a hot one this weekend! With temps hitting above 30°C (not even including the humidex), staying cool is top priority. Check out some of my ways to beat the heat, especially if you don’t have an air conditioner:
- Open your windows very early in the morning for fresh, cool air. Once things heat up, close the windows and your blinds, then get the fans going.
- Stay hydrated with plenty of cold water and beverages throughout the day.
- Skip the oven or stove. Have cold meals like salads and sandwiches, or use the microwave to avoid adding extra heat.
- Pop a blanket in the fridge or freezer for a couple of hours. It makes a cooling blanket that will keep you cool for about half an hour.
- Take a cold shower if you’re feeling overheated. When it’s sweltering, a cold rinse can be a game changer.
- If your place is just too hot, escape for a bit! Head to the pool, movies, mall, library, or even a grocery store to cool off.
