Trying new ingredients in the kitchen can be a little nerve-wracking! Picking recipes to be made and photographed for the cookbook, I landed on Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers for the Appetizer divider page, despite never having made or even tasted them before. With gloves on and a bit of hesitation, I dove in, got everything assembled and baked, then brought the poppers to work while they were still warm. Everyone loved them! I even saved one for my parents, and my stepdad immediately asked where the rest were. Sadly, there was only one to share.
The process definitely took me longer than most, thanks to my first-time nerves, but the results were worth every minute. Seeing everyone’s excitement made me realize the reward of trying something new in the kitchen. I’m already planning to make a full batch just for my stepdad and wouldn’t hesitate to whip up these poppers again!
