The Swan Valley Stampeders have added some size to their blue line, acquiring 2007-born defenceman Jack Ferras from the NOJHL’s French River Rapids in exchange for a player development fee.
The six-foot, 190-pound Ferras appeared in 34 games with the Rapids last season, recording four assists.
Meanwhile, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines have named forward Treycen Wuttunee as the team’s captain for the upcoming season. After serving as an alternate captain a year ago, the Red Pheasant product will wear the “C” in his final season of junior hockey, becoming the franchise’s 30th captain and the first Indigenous captain in team history since Brandon Stanley in 2016-17.
Wuttunee recorded 22 points during the regular season and added four more in the playoffs last year. f his teammates through his work ethic and leadership on and off the ice.
The Wolverines also made a roster move, dealing forward Lynden Gould to the Niverville Nighthawks in exchange for a player development fee.
Gould joined Waywayseecappo midway through last season, collecting one goal and one assist in 23 regular-season games while appearing in one playoff contest.
