Saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the theater here in Yorkton earlier this week before it was gone and the vibe was awesome! Turns out I went on discount Tuesday, so the place was packed. Honestly, seeing it with such a big crowd made it even more fun.
Brand New Day was able to do something no other Spider-Man movie did before: a fourth movie in the series. Expectations were high after No Way Home, especially with the return of Tobey and Andrew. I’ll admit I was confused when Punisher was announced as part of the story, since he’s known for his gritty, R-rated violence, and Spider-Man always keeps things PG-13. Surprisingly though, Punisher became one of my favourite parts, along with a genuinely compelling story that had twists and a complex villain, it was a hit!
No major spoilers, of course. Kudos to you if you have somehow managed to avoid spoilers this long! However, there is no mid-credits scene and the post-credits scene is very low-key. Just a map, no actors, so you can leave the theater during the credits. The MCU set up some cool new storylines, and now I’m even more hyped for Avengers: Doomsday which is supposed to be coming out this December!
You can still catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters. (But I’m guessing it’ll probably hit streaming in 2 to 3 months.)
