What a great weekend!
I took in the Living Skies Music Festival in Yorkton on Friday and Saturday, and I have to say, it was two nights of fantastic entertainment.
Friday’s weather certainly wasn’t the best. With the rain and cooler temperatures, I’m sure some people decided to stay home. Those who braved the weather, though, were treated to an awesome show.
Dallas Smith was great, as expected, but for me, Jess Moskaluke stole the show. I hadn’t seen Jess perform in a few years, and wow is all I can say. She puts on such a great show, and she had the crowd singing along to just about every song. There’s something pretty special about being in a crowd of people all singing along to songs they love.
If you ever get the chance to see Jess Moskaluke live, do yourself a favour and go. You won’t be disappointed.
Saturday brought much nicer weather, and it was rock night. I was especially excited because I had never seen Big Sugar in concert before. Econoline Crush and Crash Test Dummies both put on great shows, but Big Sugar absolutely crushed it.
By Sunday, I didn’t have much of a voice left. I guess spending two nights singing along to almost every song will do that to you!
It really was a fantastic weekend, and it makes me excited to see what the Living Skies Music Festival brings to Yorkton next year. I can’t wait to find out who they’ll bring in for the shows.
If you didn’t make it out this year, make a point of checking it out next year. We don’t always have to travel somewhere else to see great live music. Sometimes the best shows are right here at home.
I’m already looking forward to next year!
