Today is a pretty special day around GX94 — we’re celebrating 99 years on the air!
Think about that for a moment. Ninety-nine years of radio, stories, music, news, weather, sports and, most importantly, connecting with the people across our listening area. That’s an incredible milestone, and I’m pretty proud to say I’ve been here for 24 of those 99 years.
It really is hard to believe I’ve been at GX94 for 24 years. When I first started, I was working the all-night shift, midnight to 6 a.m. on air. A lot has changed since those early days, but one thing hasn’t — the people.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with some truly awesome people over the years. Some have moved on to different adventures, while others have become lifelong friends. When you spend that many years in one place, you collect a lot of memories, stories and laughs along the way.
And now, we’re just one year away from the big one — 100 years of GX94!
That’s a pretty amazing thought. Keep listening because over the coming months we’ll start sharing details about how we’re going to celebrate this incredible 100th birthday.
I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
