I love sunrises on the Prairies. There really isn’t much better than the peacefulness of watching a small-town sunrise.
I’m in Foam Lake this morning, and I stepped outside the rink to take in a beautiful scene. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. It was one of those moments where you just stop for a minute, look around, and appreciate where you live.
I also couldn’t help but notice the old-style grain elevator in town. There aren’t too many of them left across the Prairies. Growing up, those elevators seemed to mark every small town. You knew you were getting close when you could see one in the distance. Now, they have become much harder to find, making the ones that remain even more special.
Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a morning memorable. A beautiful sunrise, a quiet town, and a reminder of how lucky we are to live in the Land of the Living Skies.
