Driving home from Foam Lake last night, I honestly thought it was raining. Then I realized it wasn’t rain I was hearing—it was bugs!
There were so many bugs hitting the windshield that it almost sounded like a steady rain. Thankfully, I had filled up the bug juice, or windshield washer fluid as some people call it, before heading out.
By the time I got back to Yorkton, I could barely see through the windshield. Even with using the washer fluid, those bugs were putting up a pretty good fight!
I pulled into the car wash and ended up sitting in line for about 30 minutes. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait.
When I finally got to the pre-wash and sprayed down the front of the vehicle, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The front bumper looked hairy! There were so many bugs stuck to it that it looked like I had grown some sort of bug fur.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that many bugs packed onto the front of a vehicle before.
So, consider this your reminder before you head out on the highway: check your bug juice! Make sure you’ve got plenty of windshield washer fluid because the bugs are nasty right now.
And if your vehicle looks like mine did when you get home, save yourself some time and hit the car wash. Your bumper will thank you!
