A man who admitted to two counts of second degree murder, after a shooting incident on the Pine Creek First Nation, has been sentenced.
Winnipegosis RCMP were called to the scene in June of 2024, on a report of shots fired, and they found an injured 37-year-old man, who died at the scene.
The next morning, Mounties found the body of a 52-year-old woman in the same area.
About an hour later, a suspect fired shots at police from a home, and tried to flee on an off-road vehicle, but was arrested.
In Dauphin Court of King’s Bench, 21-year-old Oryan Flamand was sentenced to life in prison, with no chance of parole for 19 years.
