Swan River RCMP have charged a 21-year-old Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation man, in connection with a fatal collision in the community.
Just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 31, Mounties responded to a report of an all-terrain vehicle hitting two pedestrians, and at the scene, they found that a 39-year-old woman and 34-year-old man were walking on Porcupine Bay, when they were struck from behind by an ATV driven by a male.
The woman bore the brunt of the impact, and died of her injuries at the scene, while the man was taken to hospital with multiple non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, who was not injured, was arrested outside his nearby home, standing near the ATV, which was seized and impounded.
He has been released on conditions, as the investigation continues.
