The Melville Millionaires continued their preseason schedule with a 5-2 loss to the MJHL’s Waywayseecappo Wolverines Tuesday night to drop to 2-1 on their exhibition slate.
After a scoreless opening period, Waywayseecappo captain Treycen Wuttunee opened the scoring early in the second.
The Wolverines added three more in the third, including two from Hudson Davidson and another from Blake Farthing.
Melville finally broke through late in the period, with Kale Margolis scoring a power-play goal before adding another with just over two minutes left to cut the deficit to 4-2.
Ryden Duchon then sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Urijah Moosetail stopped 24 of 26 shots for Waywayseecappo, while Noah Kraus made 29 saves for Melville.
Elsewhere, the Kindersley Klippers scored five times in the third period to beat Warman 8-4. Kash Ringdal and Tyler Thiessen each scored twice for Kindersley.
The Flin Flon Bombers doubled up La Ronge 7-3, with Everett Merchant scoring twice for the Ice Wolves.
Melfort edged Nipawin 2-1 in a shootout, while the Battlefords North Stars scored three times in the third to beat Lloydminster 5-3.
