The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has added a familiar name to its league office.
The MJHL has named longtime hockey broadcaster and executive Brian Munz as its new Manager of League Development.
Munz brings more than 30 years of experience in sports management, broadcasting, marketing and business development, with stops at several levels of hockey, including the BCHL, SJHL, WHL, AHL and NHL.
He’ll work with teams across the league to improve operations, game presentation and broadcast standards, while helping create a consistent experience for players, coaches and fans.
Munz says his roots on the Prairies have always kept him connected to junior hockey, and he’s excited to help the MJHL continue growing and become a destination league.
His first official game with the MJHL comes Friday night in Niverville, as the Nighthawks raise their Centennial Cup championship banner before hosting the Winnipeg Monarchs.
