Rocanville, Sask., product Jessica Campbell is taking on a new role in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils.
The Devils announced Wednesday they’ve hired Campbell as their Manager of Player Development.
The 34-year-old spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Seattle Kraken, making history in 2024 as the first woman to serve as a full-time assistant coach behind an NHL bench during the regular season.
Campbell originally joined Seattle’s organization in 2022, spending two seasons with the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds and helping them reach the Calder Cup Final both years.
Before that, she coached in Germany’s top men’s league and was an assistant with Germany at the 2022 IIHF World Championship.
Campbell also had a successful playing career, including four seasons at Cornell University and three with the Calgary Inferno of the former Canadian Women’s Hockey League.
Her international career included representing Canada at multiple IIHF tournaments. Campbell won gold at the 2010 under-18 World Championship, leading the tournament with 15 points and earning MVP honours.
