Yorkton Terriers forward Jake Briltz is among the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s weekly award winners after putting together a productive start to the 2026-27 season.
The Regina product was named the SaskLotteries Forward of the Week after recording three goals and four assists for seven points in four games last week. Briltz has scored in all but one of Yorkton’s games this season and is already one point shy of matching his total from last year. He also extended his point streak to four games.
Warman Wolverines forward Trey Markus was named the SGEU MVP of the Week after collecting nine points, including four goals and five assists, in five games.
Warman defenceman Theron Bensler earned SuperU Defenceman of the Week honours with six points in five games, including the overtime winner against Yorkton.
Wolverines goaltender Luke Brunen was named the SaskTel Goalie of the Week after posting a 4-1 record, a 2.80 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. He also recorded a shutout against the Battlefords North Stars.
Humboldt Broncos forward Cody Farrell took home SaskMilk Rookie of the Week honours after scoring four goals and adding three assists in four games. Farrell’s week included an overtime winner against Battlefords.
Rounding out the awards, Weyburn Red Wings forward Jase McNichol was named the Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week. The Nokomis product recorded five points over two games against the Estevan Bruins.
