The Waywayseecappo Wolverines picked up their fourth straight win Tuesday night, and their second consecutive victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders, with a 3-0 road win in Swan River.
The Wolverines wasted little time getting on the board. Just 54 seconds in, Cale Livingston’s point shot took a big bounce off the end boards and landed in front, where Treycen Wuttunee tapped in his third of the season to make it 1-0.
Waywayseecappo added to its lead late in the second period. With just 1:08 left, Livingston finished off a nice passing play from Wuttunee, one-timing his second of the season to make it 2-0 after 40 minutes.
The Wolverines added an insurance marker early in the third, as Max Collyer ripped his fourth of the campaign over the left shoulder of Easton Falls just 2:43 into the period.
Mariko Bercier stopped all 24 shots he faced to record his first shutout and third win of the season. Falls made 30 saves on 33 shots for the Stampeders.
Swan Valley will look to bounce back Friday night when it hosts the Portage Terriers, while Waywayseecappo returns home to host the Winnipeg Monarchs.
Elsewhere in the MJHL, the Winkler Flyers edged Dauphin 4-3 in overtime, while Portage beat Selkirk 5-4.
