The Neepawa Titans made it two straight wins over the Swan Valley Stampeders on Tuesday night, earning a 2-1 victory at the Yellowhead Centre.
Neepawa opened the scoring at 4:04 of the first period, with Addison McIntosh finding the back of the net on the power play to give the Titans an early lead.
Neither team scored in the second period, setting up a one-goal game heading into the final frame.
Swan Valley pulled even just 1:23 into the third, as Noah Stott scored on the power play to tie the game at one.
But Neepawa answered just under five minutes later. McIntosh slipped the puck over Easton Falls’ left pad at 6:22 for his second of the night and seventh goal of the season. It proved to be the game-winner, as the Titans held on for the victory.
The Stampeders finished with a 36-27 advantage in shots, but Neepawa goaltender Connor Nicolson came up big, stopping 35 shots. Swan Valley’s Easton Falls made 25 saves on 27 shots.
Both teams scored once on the power play, with Swan Valley going one-for-four and Neepawa finishing one-for-two.
The Stampeders will look to bounce back Friday night when they visit the Virden Oil Capitals.
