It’s hard to believe we’re already into November! If you didn’t look at the calendar, you might think we’re still enjoying an early fall. The weather has been absolutely amazing, and I’m certainly not complaining!
We reached double-digit temperatures yesterday, and the forecast looks just as good for the weekend. Even better, these milder temperatures look like they’re going to stick around for a while. I’ll take as much of this as Mother Nature wants to give us!
Yesterday was another perfect day to get outside and tackle a few things around the yard. I decided it was time to give the lawn one more cut. Yes, you read that right… my lawn is still very green! With today being the final green organics bin pickup day of the year, I figured I should take advantage of it and get rid of the remaining leaves.
I’m glad I did because the lawn actually needed a good cut. I also spent some time cleaning up the leaves in the backyard. I’m hoping that will make spring cleanup a little easier. Usually, the snow arrives before I get all the leaves picked up, and they end up hiding under a blanket of snow until spring. This year, I’m getting ahead of the game!
The funny thing is, I didn’t even mind doing the yard work yesterday. Usually, it’s one of those jobs you just want to get finished, but when the sun is shining and the temperatures are this nice, it’s actually pretty enjoyable.
I know November can bring a completely different kind of weather to Saskatchewan, so I’m not getting too comfortable just yet. But for now, I’ll enjoy every extra day of sunshine and mild temperatures we can get.
Hopefully, you’ve had a chance to get outside and enjoy this beautiful stretch of prolonged fall weather too. Winter will be here soon enough, so let’s enjoy this while it lasts!
